She was his past. The other is his present. But who is his future? In the InuYasha series, InuYasha is in love with both Kikyou and Kagome. While their souls are the same and their appearances are similar, the two girls have entirely different personalities. Kikyou was InuYasha's first love and he was hers. Kagome is his second love and he is her first. The triangle between the lover, incarnater and reincarnation is a complexe and usually bias relationship.

Most fans prefer the InuYasha x Kagome pairing instead of the traditional InuYasha x Kikyou. So we have decided to make lists for each girl to see who is more appropiate and destined to be with the handsome hanyou. Why Kikyou

She was his first love

If it hadn't been for Naraku, Kikyou and InuYasha would have been together

Both still love each other

Both are strong and able to defend themselves and one another

Kikyou still loves InuYasha and shows this by how she doesnt interfere with his new relationship with Kagome

Kikyou is more mature than Kagome which is better for a serious relationship

Kagome has more chances and possibilites to find love (Kouga, Hojou etc..); Kikyou doesn't.

InuYasha admits he still wants to be with Kikyou and has never forgotten about her for a single day.

Both want to kill Naraku and complete the Shikon no Tama

Why Not Kikyou

She is undead while InuYasha is alive

InuYasha now cares for Kagome

Kikyou will not begin another relationship with InuYasha in fear they will both be hurt again

Naraku will use their relationship against them, resulting in tragity again

Kikyou's body is detroriating from the shouki [miasma] still trapped in her body from Naraku; she will soon have to return to the land of the dead

Why Kagome

She obviously cares for InuYasha

She accepts him for who he is

She gives him moral support, emotional and mental confidence and is always there for him

InuYasha trusts and cares for her as well

Both are alike; loud, tempermental, immature at time and brave

Kagome is willing to be by his side through everything

She is kind and considerate with InuYasha and puts up with his childish behaivour

She helps him fight better in battle

She understands and accepts (somewhat) his personality and devotion to Kikyou

Why Not Kagome

She will have to return to her time to live in adter the journey is over InuYasha still cares deeply for Kikyou

She has other chances with love (Kouga, Hojou etc...) while Kikyou doesn't

She is too young to understand real love

She has to continue her schooling and such, leaving no time for InuYasha
